I grew up not terribly far from Harriman State Park but wasn't a hiker in my youth. The only references I had were 1) I could see it on the map (paper maps in those days), and 2) there was a story in the NY Times about some trash found in Harriman that included a life-sized sex doll and a 12 volt car battery.
It wasn't until my Adult years that I found I loved hiking (not as much as I loved biking), discovered CampMor, and the trail maps of the NYNJTC for Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks and started to discover this jewel so close to downtown NY. It wasn't until I adopted a digital mirrorless camera and was introduced to software stitching that I started doing composite panoramas. I knew Art students that played with the analog stitching, you may have seen examples, they shoot a whole roll of some scene and after printing, use scissors to create a panoramic collage. This is the same idea, except its all done digitally.
I have been to Harriman enough that it deserves it's own page, and I moved all the shots from my generic composite page to here.
